FDIC Updates its Consumer Compliance Exam Manual

On August 27, 2026, the FDIC issued amendments to its Consumer Compliance Examinnatio Manual. The amendments were consistent with the issuance of the final rule on Unsafe or Unsound Practices, Matters Requiring Attention (12 CFR part 305).

The following chapters were updated:

  • Documenting the Examination (II-7) (PDF)

  • Investigations and Visitations (II-8) (PDF)

  • Appeals (II-11) (PDF)

  • Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (V-9) (PDF)

  • Small-Dollar Lending (V-17) (PDF)

Additionally, Bank of Anytown (III-2) Examination Template was removed from the website.
